If you believe this is a war on terror then Cheney should remain on the ticket. He will keep the conservative vote and may get more to come out and vote.

If Cheney is tarred by Halliburton because of democrat bs. None of it is believeable unless you want to tear down bush cheney. Those that accept Cheney is tied to Halliburton i expect also believe numerous other lies about republican adm.

My vote is keep Cheney.

Michael: There are only TWO ways that Cheney will NOT be on the 2004 Republican ticket:

1. Chaney has a massivie and physically debilitating heart attack before the Convention necessitating his replacement or;

2. He bravely and courageously says:

"If nominated I will not accept and if selected anyway I will not run"

Otherwise, it will be Bush/Cheney in 2004. And that is the best of all possible tickets at this juncture in the pre-Election countdown.

For the Republicans to dump Cheney would be seen, as LindyBill has rightly said, a sign of weakness. It would open up a real can of worms that would absolutely delight the biased and blighted liberal press. And the damage that it would do could not easily be displaced by Cheney's replacement, regardless of who it might be.

So, I am espousing a continuation of the Bush/Cheney ticket for 2004. They will do well against the Kerry/Edwards duo. In fact, I think that between now and the end of October, you are likely to see an amazing resurgence in the popularity of the Republican team and a gnashing of the teeth among the Democrats. By then, "Buyers' Remorse" should be in full swing among the rabid Left

This "replace Cheney" is a real hobbyhorse of yours, isn't it, Mike? I don't see the need. The oppo tries to destroy you by picking on supposed weaknesses. So Cheney is put over the water tank for people to throw baseballs and try to dunk him.

My "wait and see" comes from the fact that it is not necessary to do so, based on the numbers now. I don't think he is losing votes for Bush. You do. That's life!
