Cheney was put on the ticket for governing, not campaigning, and he is probably the most powerful Vice President in history. Bush doesn't like to fire people, esp. people he depends on, so imo Cheney will stay unless he has a heart attack or decided to leave himself.

LB is right. Even if Rove decides Cheney is a drag on the ticket, it would be an enormous sign of weakness to fire him.

Well, I hope you and your political friends' influence is close to nil. Please, leave Cheney on the ticket.

I'm hoping Kerry urges Bush to take Cheney off the ticket because of his odd statements about Al Q and Saddam ties; because of his Halliburton ties; whatever. That should insure he stays on.
