It is one thing to say, "it is in the interests of the United States to safeguard democracies in the Middle East, and the US will suffer if it throws Israel to the wolves". It is quite another to say, "the United States must safeguard Israel no matter what it costs the United States. In fact, to hell with the United States, just so long as Israel survives!" If you don't get the difference by now I don't think I can explain it to you. Oh, I get that difference all right. Here all along I thought I was trying to explain it to you. <g> Seriously, I do get the difference. What I don't get is where you're hearing people say the latter. I'm not hearing that. If I thought they were saying that, I'd be on their case, too, for making such a slur. If you're claiming that "Likudnik" and "Neocon" are recognized code for that, I think that's a figment.
