You are right the minor partners in coalition govt. will be against it.

I suspect even the major partner/s in the coalition government is/are against it. In fact, I think just about every political group in India would be against sending troops to Iraq. The foreign minister was just playing games with the US. Who would want to be in that hell-hole called Iraq just because some dumb idiots here proclaim that it is a "sovereign" country now?

Besides, what can the US do to threaten India? Tell India that US corporations will no longer ship their jobs to that country?! LOL! Also, India has nukes and maybe even ICBMs...
