I guess that we will just have to disagree on this one. I don't think he deserves to be locked up for a year. I do think he was putting his life at risk, and if he did anything else threatening shooting him might even be justified but I don't think that just wearing the mask justifies shooting him. It might justify ordering him out, and then pulling a gun if he doesn't leave, then shooting him if he looks like he is going for a weapon or if he lunges out you suddenly, but casually walking in with a ski mask on would not justify you shooting him or the government locking him away for an extended period of time.
