2. As mentioned elsewhere, US elections are ALREADY the most closely monitored and watched in world. If we had nothing else, we'd have you and your ilk.

I am an election judge. One thing in training that floored me was that there is a term "observer." This person is allowed to "monitor" the voters. This includes noting how they sign in, what ballot they take and their name. They cannot ask me for it, nor can they ask the voter, but they apparently can stand there and note all this stuff.

Pissed me off when I heard this. I hope I have an Observer at my polling place. He will never see the log book.

We should have nothing to hide in the election process. Anything that makes it more transparent should not be feared.

Hey, wait a minute! WE are traditionally the monitors of others' elections. If somebody's monitoring us, they're monitoring the monitors. But since we need to monitor them, who's going to monitor the monitors who are monitoring the monitors????

Clearly, the U.S. will need to monitor the U.N. monitors' monitoring of the U.S. elections.

It's like being your own mother.
