An awful lot of people seem convinced that the Kurds have been running a tidy and peaceful little democracy since the first Gulf war.

I have trouble trusting people whose hairline starts at their eyebrows.

Come on, Stephen, it's too systematic to be sloppy. If it comes down to choice between allying the Kurds and a stable (enough) Iraq, the facts you talk about will be trumpeted by the same people who now pass them by in silence.
