It is not propaganda that Saddam has long been an enemy of the US. The reason is that his intention was to create an empire in the Persian Gulf and we stopped him. His attempt to have Bush 41 assassinated should show that. Also his providing haven to anti-American terrorists like the '93 WTC bombing explosive maker and a number of others. He was not a US puppet at any time as the left claism. He has been close to Russia, France, and China who armed him.
