I quit on Christmas Day, 1986. At midnight Christmas Eve, I drowned all my remaining cigs, then threw them away. I thought that Christmas Day would be a good day because all the stores would be closed so I couldn't replenish my supply.

The next morning I discovered that store ACROSS THE STREET was open!

I stuck with it though.

Anyone who has smoked any amount for any length of time doesn't need the Surgeon General to tell them they are doing themselves no favor. Their body will do that just fine.

mr.mark, you and Laz both have posted so eloquently on this subject, I feel compelled to restrain myself from posting one of my usual flippant smoking rants. I have saved (and even backed it up <g>) your post to my file of most likely motivators to retrieve at that future time when I do attempt to quit smoking. Thanx. - Holly
