Oh please that has been posted on so many threads. Explain to me how islamic terrorism is a greater threat to the United States than Hitler, Hirohito, or having 5,000 Soviet warheads aimed in our direction.

One word: Pathetic 1) Anyone who thinks we are being attcaked because of our freedoms is nuts. We are being attacked because a) we do not mind our own business and b) because we ALWAYS side with Israel no matter what Israel does and c)we have troops where they do not belong and d) we try and force our will on the rest of the world 2) This guy will support something he does not believe in. Not me. If he thinks Kerry will be horrid the American thing to do is speak up about it anot accept it 3) This moron is still clinging to the correctness of the "domino theory" I am sure if I spent another 5 minutes I could find a half dozen more stupid things he said but those are glaringly pathetic. Venkie, Point by point: 1. The goof doesn't even count the attack on Oklahoma City? Is he totally out to lunch? Domestic terrorists are more of a threat than foreign ones as they are already here and have every right to be here until they are arrested and convicted. Of course, it is easier for rednecks to get behind picking on dark-skinned foreigners with a different religion than on the McVeighs. We have seen the enemy and some of them are us. 2. Read today's Daily Reckoning, Bill Bonner's column, about the ridiculous American conceit of foreigners being jealous of us. dailyreckoning.com 3. Once again, domestic terrorists get off scot free. Muslims are not the only ones who hate us. So does most of Asia and Africa, and nearly all of Latin America. But not one whit of that is our fault. We are perfect and they are jealous. <G> 4. Other than forcing vicious dictators on people (the Shah, Saddam) and backing spendthrift, corrupt monarchs (Saudis, all the Emirates) and supporting Israel against the Palestinians and taking ME oil for decades at low prices, we haven't done a damned thing to these folks. Ex Israel, it is the same tactics that made us so danged popular in Latin America. I actually agree with some of these acts. We can't allow the Israelis to be slaughtered. But to say we are innocent as the driven snow is silly. Just imagine, if the roles were reversed, how much outrage Americans would have. We have outrage about outsourcing, and that's being done by the beneficiaries of the Bush tax scams, not foreigners. 5. It's 23.52%, but that's close enough for right-wing claptrap. 6. In agreement. Most Americans are peaceful, but when led by Chickenhawks, they can be turned into killers and torturers fairly easily. But we can turn things around, as can the Muslim countries. Should we strike back for the 9/11 outrages? Yes. Should we attack a country not involved in 9/11 and kill 3 times as many people as were killed in 9/11, for reasons that have now been proven false? Don't think so. 7. Let's give domestic terrorists that free pass again. Can we lose the war? No way. We are the world's only super power. We have already shown that we will slaughter our enemies at a greater than 5 to 1 rate, even if they aren't the right enemies or even enemies at all. President Potemkin will pretend they are the right enemies. Can we be be faced with a hazard that ranks far below drunk driving or smoking in its damage to Americans? Yes. And we should and will fight it if we can get rid of the cowards currently in govt. and put some decent folks in their place. Right now, Kerry/Edwards is not the answer. But it is a move away from the total evil of Bush/Cheney. We have to defend ourselves. But we also have to ask what makes us the most hated nation on Earth and work on some of those factors. Not increase the hate as Bush has done and will continue to do if allowed to steal another election. The innate racism and religious intolerance reeks in this father's note. Hopefully, his children will move away soon and like Ron Reagan, throw off their father's bigotry and huge mistakes in ideology without losing their love for him.

It leads Americans to believe the most absurd things - that if they offer American-style institutions to foreigners, even at the point of a gun, they will take them up readily and then say 'thank you.'
