Very interesting. I can only imagine what could have developed if WalMart had a better scanner or used some manual settings.

As for me, I've given up on 35 mm out of pure laziness. I used to have Olympus 3030Z, now I switched to Canon "Elf" PowerShot S400. I use higher resolutions, and print the pictures myself on HP PhotoSmart using top paper. Most of the time this setup produces decent results, however there are times when I wish I had something more precise and sophisticated.

What kind of files resolution-wise does WalMart produce?
