Really.......and out of the left's "push" came the right's effort to implement a constitutional amendment. That just happened out of thin air without pre thought.....interesting.

Altering the constitution is the only way to head off activist judges from allowing gay marriage. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, or some pre-existing plan to know what your options are.


Yes, it does. Altering the constitution was the least likely way to succeed. It requires a 2/3 vote of the states. It would have taken forever. It would have been one of the few times, if not the only time, a constitutional amendment was used to restrict rights instead of expand them.

The GOP senators knew all that........why do you think they took that route?
