"Prudent fiscal management is needed now," Now?? this minute, next week, a couple of months or next year are all still essentially now. What you dont want to do is kill the golden goose and head back to the double d's--deflation and depression. All the frugality in the world can make one iotas worth of difference if the double ds return bigger than ever. So be patient and perhaps next year the coffers will be up significantly and spending can be reduced and we can move back to a balance budget. Forget about surpluses until the WOT is won. MIke
