All I can suggest to you Karen, is that you call several insurance brokers, and see if I am not right.

Check how big the company/govermnent has to be to have a large enough "Risk Pool...."

Then see what the total cost of the policy will be, no matter how it is split between the employer and employee.

Think you will find the larger the employer, the smaller per charge per employee. THEN, the employer can decide how much of the premium they will/or won't help the employee with....

In my relative's case, she works for the State....Hundreds of thousands of employees.

For the money I mentioned, she has Medical, Major Medical, Dental, and Vision! For both she and her husband.

If the State helps with the premium, then of course, the Taxpayers are the employer....as they pay for State Government. Which leads me back to my original premise.
