Brian, this verse teaches that God does not wish for all men to hear the truth and understand, lest they should be healed. (Or saved)

Matthew 13

" 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

Sadly, we have a few of these on this thread.

James

Excellent post Brian.

If you had a bible that correctly translated aionian(ie, pertaining to the eon or age), you'd be on the money.

Aother Holy Spirit inspired antidote to Knoch's Universalism.

Matt 7
"13": Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

"14": Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

"15": Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
