KT,

I don't believe any of the repsonses from the FBI or anyone else after the fact.

If the story is accurate (including about the marshalls and FBI), I suspect the guys either must have been on some kind of hot list or we have a passenger screening process that
red-flagged the flight. IMO, it would be too much of a coincidence otherwise for us to have FBI etc... on that flight.

I'm not sure whether I feel good or bad about this.

If they were red-flagged (rightly or wrongly) I feel good about it because it means the Feds at least have a semi-decent passenger screening process. They also must have known the guys were clean to allow them to move around like that. They were probably under observation so that authorities could learn something about tactics.

However, if it "was" a coincidence that the FBI was there and they had no idea whether the men were clean or not and they let them move around suspiciously, I say they are completely incompetent.

I say screw civil rights in this instance.

A dozen men that are the perfect profile acting like that will simply have to tolerate the minor inconvenience of being checked out to save hundreds of live.

I consider myself a libertarian and I feel that way. There is fine line between protecting civil rights and being a ahole.
