Z, If anything, religion's held us back.

I suppose you think religion's ultimate goal is to make us like the Amish.

But how much deeper have we scratched in the fifty years hence because of him?

Are we any closer to the meaning of life because of the theory of relativity? Or the discovery of DNA? Or the proliferation of cars and microwaves (which as you know was vehemently opposed by Christians everywhere)?

Your faith in science, of course, is defined by all of the successes science has brought to this world. If that's all there is to live for, then you should enjoy your life and experience all there is to experience "under the sun." But before you do, I humbly suggest you read the book of Ecclesiastes by the wise Jewish king Solomon, a man who truly experienced everything "under the sun," only to call it "meaningless."
