The problem is there would be no logical or rational reason for NOT expanding it. In determining whether a class of people is a threat to you, age/sex/race/ethnicity is a factor. For example, you can pretty well rule out asian women in the 40-60 age group as a threat.

Seems kind of unfair to only pick on the middle eastern people.

Wayne, the press has been gelded, so they're no help in protecting civil liberties. I saw the author and her husband on MSNBC this morning. I think the term "hysterical" definitely applies in this case, though she may have a more general case. I wish some enterprising reporter would get the ME guys on and hear their side of the story, but, the press has trouble moving around with their stones gone. <G>
