Well, I guess I should have checked those facts when I originally read them over a year ago (I can't remember offhand where I read that).. But I do recall that the author discussed that the majority of all Shiites in Saudi Arabia resided in the oil rich regions on the Persian gulf, and that the Saudi security chief (Nayef?) was playing both sides of the Wahhabist "coin" in order to continue the repression of the Shiite minority.. But 15% still equates to some 3 million Shiites living in a country of 20 million. And none of them are permitted to practice their religion.

But here's one other fact that has been repeated multiple times in multiple places.. 50% of Saudi Arabia is under 18 years of age. Now if you can sit there and tell us that is not a cause for concern, or a fertile breeding ground for militant extremism (as well as western values should they be permitted to influence them), then the discussion is obviously in vain.

And being a shiite living under the repression of the Wahhabists DOES mean they could threaten a revolt against the government, or at least a bid for autonomy. Only in recent months has the Saudi government decided to recognize the Shiite community in SA:

The "infiltration" that you talk about are Iraqis who left Saddam to take refuge in Iran (I guess the frying pan was better than fire) and now they are moving back to their homes.

Well, you have the advantage over me because I'm not able to offer more than a public opinion, not being able to present any evidence to publically substantiate my belief..

But you're still wrong. I'll just have to leave it at that..
