Just thought of an interesting case in point about increased vulnerability once the core patents run out. Flarion's OFDM actually uses CDMA in order to average out the interference from neighboring cells. For this to work they are virtually certain to use some form of power control. Ooops, that requires one of Qualcomm's core patents. But not in 2010 or so.

Not that I am overly worried, but it is important to watch.
