Hello Wade, Very good. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Regarding Message 20337900 <<travel in China in high style>>

… I will start traveling tomorrow, to Beijing, Chongqin, Suzhou, and Shanghai, tagging along with a delegation of some sort, again mostly first-timers, on a journey arranged by the big wigs, and expect the VIP treatment all the way, complete with siren blaring police escorts (2 front, one tailing, plus pre-positioned blocking motorcycle squads at intersections), big black Mercedes, delicious banquets like so achamchen.com (can you say delicious:0), luxurious accommodations, and, perhaps best of all, never having to carry my own luggage, and, even better than best of all, not having to bother with security checks before boarding airplanes :0)

I really like the police escort bit, as traffic is choked off at various busy intersections so that the team can roll through, on our way to import functions such as eating roast ducks, shopping for freshwater pearls, or getting measured for silk pajamas. My wife has tasked me this trip with getting some silk comforter covers and pillowcases.

I will say one thing for the pinko commies, they certainly know how to throw a party, and yes, the world may look different from certain vantage points, especially when daisy chained in a motorcade ;0)

Besides shopping and eating, we will also see some factories, companies, banks, and stuff, owned by the state, domestic private folks, and overseas investors, and invariably be dazzled by some numbers, reported by them self-serving management staff in S&P500 factories.

Everyone may feed us a bunch of lies, as they all imperceptibly collapse into a heap of financial ruin and social catastrophe. The collapsing is so unnoticeable that they seem to be levitating.

I will try to not be fooled by the smiles of content workers and satisfied bosses.

These trips enable me to witness what I normally do not see, and listen to what I otherwise would not hear. The trappings of the trips are very seductive, like the dark side of the Force. But I still like to keep tap on the Energy, take the pulse, so as to better watch for signs of collapse.

I will be back in HK on August 1st.

Chugs, Jay
