The Camps

I believe the investors are still here, they are however wiser, lighter and leaner. The new site will offer very serious advantages to readers in regards to decoding SI. We still have an army of members who are bound by group agendas. These members have yet to figure out that they represent just a few similar grains of sand on the beach and in the community structure their combined output is no greater than greatest of the camp, the subvocals are "so much noise" but serve a useful purpose in that they reveal all the members of the given camp no matter where they might have hidden themselves. The prominence of the established investment camps can be clearly seen in the new site, sub-topics that help refine our views of each other such as religion, politics and sport have been relegated to the second tier. As a reader, you probably have investment camps where you feel quite comfortable, there are occasional travellers who might cause discomfort but by and large we choose to live in places we find amenable. We find some connection to this world and pitch our tent in that place. Our choice of location is easy to change in the beginning, any number of things might cause us to move, as we become established it is harder to maintain fluidity. As we add our blood to the threads and the threads are added to the fabric, we are stabilized by those who are placed near us in the minds of the readers, we may never see ourselves clearly but we are seen clearly.
