It probably isn't appropriate for you to write what appears to be a pseudo-epitaph for AQCI as an inclusion in your offering of personal feelings and observations regarding the passing of your acquaintance.

The technology and equipment used to retrieve sunken logs works. Once again NASA space technology has spun off benefits we ground-pounders can use here on the planet. The cost of harvesting standing forests rises with the daily increase in the cost of oil. The hardwoods that are waiting on the bottom of rivers, lakes and oceans are preserved in a state that the wood-smiths seem to appreciate.

Having spent many years in Panama, where AQCI has or had a development interest, I have seen many massive mahogany, iron wood, and other furniture-grade logs awaiting harvesting on the bottom of Maddan Lake, Gatun Lake, the Chagres river, the Gulf of San Miguel, and in the shallows and surrounds of the Bay of Panama.

The great engines of the world's economies roll on, making rich the paupers of yesterday; opportunities being harvested like fruit in the season when their time is ripe.

I would prefer not to throw the baby out with the soiled bath water. It's much more interesting to see what the youngster finally accomplishes than to invest inordinant sums of emotion over the recycling of spent fluid of old or unsuccessful attempts.

John :-)
