Easy Dave, because they make him look like a dork at a time when he's trying to be a tough guy. Seeing those guys smiling in their suits reminds me of those sperm characters in the Woody Allen movie.

There's not a person on earth who wouldn't look silly wearing that suit and crawling out of a tube.

Modern politics is as much about images as it is about words. Dukakis was derailed in part by a single image of him in a tank.

That is why candidates guard their images so carefully these days. Bush is so concerned with creating positive images that he donned a flight suit and used an entire aircraft carrier as a prop.

That said, the Kerry campaign would have been better off not commenting on the images.
