If we get zapped, it could just as easily be from some enemy we haven't identified yet.

New Zealand? Ecuador? Radical Buddhists?

Seriously, your post is full of complacent holes. I think we know full well where the danger lies.

And it is, unlike global warming, truly a man-made danger, deliberate and purposeful.

And the truth is, we can't do anything without tying ourselves up in knots. Which is not to say we can't do anything. But there are just too many people who have a stake in tying those knots. So there will always be that inertial baggage that will also have to be constantly overcome.

Actually, I think your post is a good example of that.

There's hardly any daylight between what Bush would do and what Kerry would do.

More accurately, there is hardly any daylight between what Bush would do and what Kerry says he would do. However, I think you should add these two factors into the mix:

1. Bush is a conviction politician and one stubborn cuss. He doesn't change course easily.

2. Kerry is prone to saying whatever will please the audience of the moment, and is politically quite gutless. When he is attacked, he caves.

After I add these factors in, I get quite different projected courses of action for the two men as President.

and plugging the obvious holes as we find them rather than betting the farm that the scariest Muslim scenario will play out. I don't see much daylight between the ecowarriors and the hawks. They're just under the spell of different religions.

I see a helluva lot of difference.
The ecowarriers are not fighting a problem that wants to behead them unless they are under under the spell of a religion other than Jew, Christian, or American.

That post does explain your view. I get it. You see no evil; You hear no evil; and you don't want to talk about evil.

But you will believe eventually. Similar to Thomas (Didymus), you will believe after you stick your fingers in the blood.
