Interesting that you say so. I actually have a huge junk of change in my money market account right now and I've been seriously considering buying a vacation home in an area where I think baby boomers will retire. I figure that might be a good way to diversify against my stocks and bonds. So I've been vasillating on whether I should buy the home in cash or just put a little down and make the mortgage payments off the earnings of a conservative balanced fund or something (like Fidelity Freedom Income fund. Not sure what I'll do.

I'm bearish on the market here but I feel comfortable accepting stock as compensation for the forseeable future, even if it is years before the market recovers. These valuations are good for many stocks. For the tech sector there are fewer new competitors coming from the VCs too
