I was, but hardly interested in politics. However, I do seem to recall that Humprhey had total support at the convention. The rioters in the street came across more as a lot of idiots than as any opponents to Humphrey.

JF, I caught a small part of the convention on TV, and I was amazed at how they were covering it like it's some reality show or sporting event. It was the "pre-game" show as everyone awaited Edwards coming up to the plate. "He's expected to talk to this crowd like twelve jurors and unite them like they've never been united before. It will be a complicated task. Will he be able to do it?"

It's about all I could take. A highly rehearsed and scripted event, and it's covered like it's the Olympics. My message to the GOP: Shorten your convention and save your money for other stuff.
