Clinton had a plan for a debt free USA by 2012

China has really played the USA for a sucker in this last recession and there is nothing we can do because they hold so much of our debt. We have got to take this debt situation more seriously. The flippant spending by this administration is troubling to say the least. Fortunately only a few more mos until sanity returns

No, Clinton did not settle the debt.

It was thought that he did. Rather, folks were made to believe, at least for a while, that he had squared the account.

Ah! But that turned out to be political propaganda and bullshit. Oh well, politics is never clean and honest: there is constant manipulation of public opinion.

Some relatively small debts could be wiped out by a judicious manipulation of exchange rates.

There were occasional shrinkages in the magnitude of the US National Debt. However, on balance, it appears that it has been ballooning from administration to administration.

Will there be a day of reckoning? Veep Cheney seems to think there will be none!
