Yeah, those were the days! I remember Allen Greenspan saying we didn't want to pay down the national debt "too fast"! What a turnaround with Bush.

Deficit reduction is a good thing Clinton did, however balooning income tax revenue made his job easier. Clinton didn't rely on cutting programs to do it. He relied on a bubble econonmy and large increases in revenue to do it. Revenues like that won't be seen again for a very long time.
