What triggered the revolt of the people in USSR? Answer: The fact that their gov tried to match Pres Reagan's military buildup. That wise strategy on Reagan's part funnelled all Soviet resources into their national defense which in turn resulted in lack of basic food stuffs(like bread) on store shelves. The Russian people revolted against their lousy living conditions which were the direct result of all available soviet funds being expended on the USA/USSR arms race.
