If that's so, then democracy American-style may be a lot more dysfunctional than even the last four years has indicated. That's a huge statement. I've been debating whether Kerry and Edwards are lying to us when they say that they're going to maintain the tax cuts for "98% of America"... we cannot afford to do that, but nobody has ever won an election declaring that he/she will raise taxes... just ask Walter Mondale or George HW Bush. -Z
