Also impolite in tone, were some of XYZebra's posts (which you didn't appear to notice), but some of XYZebra's content was powerful, very accurate, and an astute business assessment of the situation, if you can get past the tone.

I believe that she noticed and like you she simply ignored my 'exhuberant' remarks, which btw were addressed more to specific individuals, rather to an entire nation...

...and so, she did not want to create more havoc -g

I thank you for the fair recognition and acknowledgment.

One think I would like to correct, before things get out of hand -g

is this...

From her post,

lol

Amy, I am a male *i though* my [sometimes] exuberant use of testosterone would have made this obvious...

except that... when you read people like this:

Message 20376230

and like this:

Message 20376274

The obvious is not enough, since there is a comprehension hurdle... -lol

it WILL get you in trouble since such people can hardly read/comprehend and are prone to confusion, hence I understand why you got me confused with a female.

Those two are easily deceived by their own shortcomings, as all I did was to paste onto one of my posts the writings of a female. That was enough to send these two clowns following the wrong trail... It was unintended since I addressed the post in question to someone else, (who knows, I am a male), yet the one clown got seriously confused and told the other clown.. and so here we are....

I take this as a compliment since it has allowed me to discover that I may have powers I did not I had, I may even go into the business of "deceit of the fools" -g

I certainly do NOT include you in the above statement, I know you are better than them, much better. I mean it and I am merely saying so just to clarify.

Lastly, in re: my impolite tone... Impolite ? it was meant to be outright obnoxious... I know, you are too kind, and I appreciate it. Truly I do.

Well, what can I say... I just dance the way they play the tune to me; I will accept that I am no beacon of PR, but I am ok with that...

Perhaps it is the result of dealing with bureaucrats and years of observing politicians dealing so much crap to us, the public, that quite frankly I have become allergic to the stuff and true... I have NO patience.

Long ago, my father told me:

Boy, when mother nature was dispensing patience, you arrived late and got a big dick instead... -gg

Most importantly, I am glad you noticed the points I made. I appreciate you seeing past my dealings with beavis and butthead.

Hi Amy J,

I think his posts are helpful only in the sense that it reveals what/how anti-Americans think.

The perfect example of this was his attempt to re-cast terrorists as "freedom fighters". This attempt to redefine every aspect of our war on terrorism to portray the US as 100% bad guys and the terrorists as 100% good guys renders any point of view he might express as not worth considering.

Maybe if he admits that the US was the victim on 9/11/2001 and is establishing a democracy in Iraq to a well educated population that has been enslaved for the past 30 years and then getting the hell out -- maybe then his point of view on other matters would be worth considering.

Chris

I find most Americans to be very self deprecating right up to the point where someone who isn't American says the same thing that they might say themselves. Self criticism is acceptable but criticism from the outside brings out their nationalism. I have yet to meet anyone from any country who doesn't exhibit a certain degree of defense of homeland when subjected to criticism leveled by a foreigner, even those people who are refuges and basically escaped the tyranny of their homelands with the clothes on their back.

I remember years ago going to lunch with a French friend of a friend and after twenty minutes of his tirade on just how inferior the US was I finally spoke and said, "WTF do you live here?" At that he stopped, smiled at me and said, "Yes, I'm sorry, I hate it when people come to my country and tell me everything that is wrong with France." From that point on we relaxed and had an enjoyable lunch.

I think most Americans are acutely aware of their own country's shortcomings (even the ones who haven't been out of the country since people from the rest of the world are so eager to tell us). Doesn't mean they want to leave or have someone else ask them how they can stand living there. What makes a place home doesn't necessarily come out in a survey of best places to live. As opposed to most of the world's population Americans have a choice to live pretty much anywhere in the world they wish. Perhaps they never gave thought to leaving their homeland as most of our ancestors did, but I tend to think that people's actions speak louder than their words. They choose to live where they live. People risk their life every single day to come live here. So far Canada hasn't had to fortify it's border to keep us from moving there any more than we've had to fortify our Northern border to keep them out.

Frankly I find most Canadians to be wonderful people and far more intelligent and engaging than the poster you are defending. It's not so much he attacks Americans it's that he does it with such a complete lack of wit and insight. Call me names but at least be interesting or tell me something I didn't know before.
