Just saw Tucker Carlson interview Paul Krugman. Interesting, but no surprises. Tucker tried to ask him, why the visceral hatred of Bush, and got the answer, because it really is all Bush's fault. Krugman defended his column of last October where he blamed Bush for Indonesian PM Mathasir's anti-Semitism by saying that Bush has made the world hate us. It occurred to me then the Bush's real unforgivable sin was being President when American liberals could no longer maintain their complete denial of the existence of militant Islam. So naturally, they have decided that militant Islam is Bush's fault; the terrorists are only hating America really because Bush is fighting them. Liberals must keep the faith that all conflicts are open to negotiation and people only hate because they have been terribly oppressed.

Don't try explaining that cause must follow effect and cannot precede it. It's hopeless.
