"I got sent to Motivation platoon" sounds like it worked based on how well you have done since graduating from platoon. ggg

Does anyone remember that scandal back in the 1950s where a DI took some boots out in the swamp at Parris Island and they drowned? It caused quite a stir then. I wasn't good enough to get in the Corps, but I did once voluntarily take a 40ish mile hike with full pack. When I got back I could hardly walk. Message #3949 from JDN at Aug 7, 2004 11:28 AM Well, in my day they were not SUPPOSED to do that either BUT THEY DID. They just kept it out of sight of an officer. I got sent to Motivation platoon for attempting to steal a jar of peanut butter off the DI's table (I was ADDICTED TO PB in those days). There they didnt lay a hand on you cause everyone in there but me was ONE MEAN HOMBRE, but they worked the heck out of us. I actually had to hike with full pack and rifle a total of 42 MILES in one day. Pretty incredible EH? jdn
