As the saying goes, "Once bitten, twice shy." Investors and speculators who were bankrupted by the big crash are either much too wary these days or they no longer have the Vitamin M (oodles of cash) to get going again. This is one of the reasons we now have a very lackluster market and economy. Big-time manipulation is impossible, you say? No way! Did you know that the big South-East Asian collapse was said to have been engineered by George Soros who shorted Asian currencies big-time in 1997/98! The same Soros was responsible in 1992 in causing the British pound to lose nearly half its value for a while during which there was panic in Europe where some banks temporarily raised interest rates in desperation by as much as 50%. Many of the self-serving ways the cabal of big boys do are kept secret from us. All too often we learn of some things only after the fact! Often it's too late to take counter measures. Impossible to manipulate the market in a big way? Remember the hi-tech bubble which drew droves of investors and speculators away from the blue chips and caused so many to dip into their IRAs or mortage their homes/farms for cash? And how their dreams evaporated virtually overnight?
