<<<the reason the War Hawks are supporting George Bush is that he gets the nature of the fight we're in, while the Democrats plainly do not. Even the more reasonable Dems still seem to think a police action would have been an adequate response to 9/11, while the other half of the party is poisoned by Moore's Disease moonbattery. >>>

I disagree with you completely. However, perhaps some good can come out of all this. This could help us all to reevaluate as to who we are, what we stand for, and what we think are important.

As a minimum, we can improve national security, as no doubt there will be others that will try to harm us.

As for the current threat, there is no way they can defeat us. Of course they can hurt us, but no worse than drunk drivers or a severe weather system.

We do not wreck our economy or our value systems because drunk drivers kill 50,000 of us each year or a potential weather system that can wipe out a whole city.

Maybe I am completely off base with this, but I think it should be discussed. It may just be the cost of doing business, or the cost of freedom.

Of course we have to fight terrorism. We have to find the most effective means to do so. Getting all emotional about it, just gets in the way of clear thinking.

Hi Nadine,
As someone who has grown very skeptical about the iraq war(particularly the way it has been run and the lack of accountability when there have been clear failures imo), i must say that i agree with you 100% that the reason to support GWB " is that he gets the nature of the fight we're in, while the Democrats plainly do not." Its those damn ostrich democrats along with the ideologues who failed to choose a legit alternative to bush. Guys like lieberman, biden and bayh would be credible alternatives. Kerry is proving himself to be a light weight even after 20+ senate years. He should have gone after deans stupid comments last week and didnt and instead ridiculed bush for those 7 moore minutes. mike
