Do you realize how much Kerry contributed to the perception of Vietnam Viets which caused them to get spit on when the came back home?

Hey Wolff, may I ask you about how old you are?
I would guess you weren't old enough to serve in Vietnam. If that is true may I offer that you believe that John Kerry had very, very little to do about America's treatment of the vets upon their return from service.

Yes there was a horrible reception for the brave soldiers when they came home, and I resent that very much.

Walter Cronkite, Feb. 7,1978, before we withdrew, was on his nightly CBS news show, and when he said the following, America knew that we had lost the war.

"But it is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out then will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy, and did the best they could."

There was no cable back then. Cronkite was called "The Most Trusted Man in America".

That sir was the end of the war in America's eyes.

John Kerry was one voice among many thousands who just told the truth about a very wrong war.

SWiftVets have zero credibility. Just a rightwing smear operation using a bunch of Bush supporting liars who are making up slander. McCain calls them dishonorable and dishonest. You are too by touting these crepos.

Kerry never attacked his fellow vets,. Just the opposite. Read his testimonies more carefully and consider what was happening at the time in Nam. Also see McNamara's film "the Fog Of War" to see how badly the leaders were lying to the American people, including about atrocities.

The people who dissed the Vietnam vets are over on the President George W. Bush thread. They're the people who didn't protest and didn't go, the chickenhawks who felt the Vietnam vets had "lost" the Vietnam war, and thereby "shamed" America. They're the kind of people who believe "my country right or wrong" - as long as it isn't THEM getting shot at. In a democracy, it's your duty to make sure your country is RIGHT. If it's some poor shlub draftee - he should die for his country and keep his mouth shut, according to the chickenhawks. John Kerry didn't, and he was a patriot not to. I don't know one person who dissed Vietnam vets that protested the war.
