...both McCain and Kerry...supported ending the atrocious Vietnam War...

Wrong Bubba. Wishful thinking on your part. McCain did not return to the U.S. until 1973 and never worked to oppose the war. He spent most of the next two years in rehabilitation and regained his flight status.

The SwiftVets are more than entitled to their opinion about Kerry since they were in Vietnam at the same time. None of them suspected that John Kerry would ever have the gall to run for U.S. Presidency or they would have challenged the validity of his medals at the time. Their concerns re what they consider his "unfit for command" status is understandable since he wants to control the
country they offered their lives to defend.
