Yeah I don't know what Kerry was expected to do as a senator ... call up NORAD and start giving orders? The senate exists to pass laws, not to act on attacks against the United States.

Bush was the commander in chief ... because he froze up, there was nobody to give the order to shoot down hijacked planes. Cheney eventually did give that order, but he had no authority to do so ... under the circumstances Cheney had no more authority than any other civilian. Because Bush was a basket case, Cheney had to illegally seize power belonging to the president.

Ronald Reagan showed more presence of mind after he had been shot than Bush showed on 9/11.

"You bet we might have"

John Kerry, in comments to the Unity journalism conference as to whether he would have gone to war to disarm Saddam Hussein.

What do you think Bush should have done in those 7 minutes that would have made any difference?

BTW, the reading began about 9:07. He was informed by an aide that a second tower had been hit after the reading began. He'd been informed of the first plane hitting a building earlier and had thought it was some sort of accident.

I think we all know that if Bush had jumped up immediately and left the school, the same people pretending to be horrified about the 7 minutes listening to children read would pretend to be horrified that he paniced and ran as soon as he got word of the attacks.
