Ann,
My understanding of Kerry's recent explanation for that statement made so many years ago is that he allowed that the word "atrocities" was over the top. He in no way repudiated his testimony, which, by the way, the majority of VN vets I know support in general. It was an ugly war, as all wars, by their nature, are.

In the same way he was willing to say anything to Congress in order to win his 1st election

In the same vein, Bush was willing to tell anything to the world to get into Iraq "to beat the sandstorm". The only difference in both the supposed lies is that in Kerry's case no lives were lost but in Bush's Iraq case many many lives have been lost. Big, big difference.

I say get the "Angel of Death" Bush out of the White House on Nov. 2nd.
