One of the issues is that we are never presented with a choice of the two most qualified candidates. It always seems to be the two that the parties believe will continue their agenda. I've stated before that I'd vote for McCain in a heartbeat, but I'll never have that opportunity because he won't toe the party line. Similarly, Gore was not the most qualified candidate on the Demo side. Until we break the two party monopoly (is there such a thing as a bipoly?), we'll continue to vote for the lesser of two evils.

That said, I think the Kerry is more qualified than Gore was, or than Dean would have been.
