It was lying about an activity that did not affect the role of the Presidency one iota. It was his personal life, and the consequence of his action did not affect our nation at all. That is, until the Republicans wasted so much time and money on it. Clinton was widely respected in the world, and our nation was both prosperous and at peace. Now, our reputation is stained, we are viewed as one of the major threats to world peace, and many nations have a much lower opinion of American than in the Clinton years. You mistake clarity of leadership for thoughtful, respected leadership. Many leaders have possessed the same clarity of Bush: Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, ...
