Some strange market action recently. The current situation of soaring oil prices and the growing probability of a global economic slowdown in 2005 should be devastating for emerging markets. Yet they continue to hold up surprisingly well. Non-Japan Asia actually was up a touch last night despite the huge losses on Wall Street.

Now the emerging markets have been trending down the last few months, but much less than one might expect given the action in the US.

Not sure what this means, but it does suggest that emerging markets will vastly outperform the US whenever global markets rally.
