can one bomb China back into the dollar camp? No but you (not you specifically :o) can bully Canada with softwood lumber tariffs... tomato tariffs blah blah... so .....
I think it depends as much on the size of China as it does on the size of the US military...

the dollar enjoys the reserve currency status only as long as foreign creditors believe their claims can be cashed in. but is this the chicken and the egg ? Did the pound cause the demise of the empire ? Or was it the demise of the the Royal Navy and Expeditionary Forces that were no longer able to buttress the pound ? I dunno .. maybe it's a like a giant protection racket and then one day your bluff is called...
