Andrew, Arnie is my governor. I did not vote for him but now if he re runs I will. He is not only a firm believer of his "convictions" but his convictions are based on "sensitivity." He is a Colin Powell, fiscally conservative and a social liberal. And his wife and uncle Teddy Kennedy has kept him in line. He is also very charming and like Kerry he can speak about the European culture and appreciates things like Cuban cigars, French wine and cheese.

It feels real good to see that Bush has finally accepted Arnie's political philosophy. IMO, Bush is concerned about his base no doubt and he is out there making all sorts of alliances with people like McCain, Arnie etc.

It is still a very very open question if McCain's, Arnie's supporters will go over to Bush's side. They were abandoned by Bush since he failed to show them any "sensitivity" at a time when Bush did not have to do so. Now they wonder why is Bush coming back to them? What guarantee do they have that once Bush gets re elected with their support, he would not go back to the neocons such as Cheney, who continues to be his running mate.

Maybe, again maybe, Bush has a chance of getting their support if Bush drops Cheney from the ticket and goes with someone like Guiliani. And what better place to declare that but in Guiliani's New York.
