And so were his; that wasn't my point... My point is, no matter what facts either of you brings to the table, it comes down to this statement, which is opinion:

>Unemployment benefits SHOULD NOT BE GENEROUS. They should feed you, NOT pay your mortgage and car payment. Your employers have to pay for these benefits. It is unfair to the employer to require them to pay you even after you're not working for them any longer. You should be glad you got ANY unemployment benefits.

I don't want to put words into CJ's mouth, but I think he'd agree with me when I say that unemployment should be able to let one keep one's standard of living for a few months while he or she looks for a new job... just because someone's laid off shouldn't mean the repo man knocks on his door the next day. In this day of credit for everyone, that's the reality of the situation if unemployment pays for nothing but to "feed you."
