Kerry never self-promotes himself as a hero. Has never, will never. Other people (like me) do but he doesn't. In fact even his own family will tell you John will not talk about Nam unless pressed into doing so. If you've beenm in combat you know killing people and seeing your friends blown away is not something you want to re-live and brag about. True war heros like John don't brag.
