I've repeatedly said your guy made a mistake to
base his campaign on such a limited military record.

I believe that even if Kerry had not drawn attention to his war record, pro-Bush forces would still have maligned him big-time about it.

Seems to me the anti-Kerry machine is applying Goebbels' tried and tested techniques:

1. throw enough mud and some will stick;
2. repeat a lie long enough and it will appear as the truth and, the the bigger the lie, the more likely is it to be believed.

Weeks ago, anti-Kerry forces were gleeful when the Swift Vets emerged and many here said Kerry was being hoisted on his own petard. Now I see that the Swift Vets are losing credibility.

Perhaps we should review ALL awarded Purple Hearts, and change the criteria by which they are awarded. Currently, severity of wound is not considered. Max Cleland got ONE Purple Heart for three limbs - Rove still had him smeared!

Friendly fire also doesn't disqualify.

I thought John Kerry should use that phrase at the end of his speech, but it worked good anyway.
