thoughtful post... though i'm not so sure that he wouldn't have been told to sit tight. they had received no specific threats with respect to his location at the time, and making unplanned movements may have been viewed as a higher risk than staying put.

i do agree that it did not matter.

it's much easier to view in hindsight, but at the time, these events were unthinkable. i watched the towers fall from my 45th floor office window... and for me, 7 minutes was simply not enough to grasp the enormity of the situation.

What disturbs me about the seven minutes is Bush's total lack of curiosity. He knew a plane had struck one tower before he entered the school. When I heard that on the radio, I immediately turned on CNN on TV. Shortly, I was watching the scene as the second plane impacted the other tower. Yet Bush, told of the second plane and that we were under attack, continued to sit there. What kind of a man is this incurious? Should a man like this be President? I judge not..
