this is not a political thread anymore, its purely ideological.

I personally dont see it as an issue. Here I get to read one POV. There are other sources where I get a different POV. End of the day, I gotta figure out data from info, and then vote.

Mike, the only way to know how the swiftboat controversy will play out with voters is to wait for the polls. There is no other way to tell. As for the rest of your statement, what makes you think that "political operatives and their "sychophants" (actually its syncophants, unless you really meant "psychophants" ? <g> You honestly don't think that that the SwiftVets took the initiative on their book themselves? Sure, they needed help, connections and money, but "taking advantage of the vets"? I don't think they are so easily manipulated.

There is 20 years of lousy kerry performance in the senate to be discussed but these cats are focused on vietnam and thats because they never got over the fact that we/they lost there. Always has to be someone to blame. And what mccain, kerry and others accomplished by putting to bed the acrimony over vietnam years ago has been blown apart by political operatives and their sychophants taking advantage of the vets who served

It is the kerry crowd and kerry, himself, who raised the banner of Vietnam. From the beginning, we heard of his military hero record followed by the General Clarke military hero record. Then kerry raised the bar and "reported for duty" in boston. The man has brought this Vietnam stuff upon himself and many vets have had enough. They are pushing back and he cannot handle it. Nor can his supporters which have taken their normal position of "blaming Bush". I'm ready to talk issues other than Vietnam when kerry is.
